I know that most of you are thinking, she isn't a nurse yet. But in school we look at things in a different way. We are Nurses in 1st semester!! :)
As of today, I have completed my first 2 weeks of nursing school!! WOW is about all I can say!!! I knew going into this that it would be busy, lots of reading and lots of studying. However, knowing that ahead of time and actually doing it are 2 totally different things.. Trust me!!! BUT I am loving it!! Don't get me wrong, there have been a few times that the thoughts of "Am I crazy" "Do I really know what I am getting myself into" have crossed my mind! However, I am choosing to think of the GOAL and end product of this organized chaos instead of anything negative! God has called me to do this and has been preparing me for this journey for a long time! I am gladly walking this path set before me know that I CAN and WILL do this and that God is with me every step of the way!!!
I had my first Nursing test this morning!! It was very different from any other test I have ever taken! Yes it is knowledge based but it isn't simply asking what a definition of something is or how something works. It is application questions that give you a scenario and you have to apply the knowledge you have learned in order to answer the question correctly!! I have to wait until Monday to find out what I made....bummer! I tend to be a little impatient.. hehe!! But I will make it. I have put a lot of time in to studying the last week and half so this weekend will be kid focused. They are troopers and haven't complained about the flopping around and different people getting them off the bus or anything like that!! It is hard not being able to spend as much time with them, but again, I am choosing to think of the Goal and end product and focus on that!! So when I don't have to study or do homework, I will soak up as much of the boys as I can!!! After the test today we had a time management class and during the class she played this video and I really liked it. So I thought I would end the post by sharing it!! Thank all of you for your prayers, support and encouragement so far, and I know that I will continue to get it!! It means more than you'll ever know. And to my precious family and friends that are helping out with the kids, I can't even put into words what that means and how much I appreciate it!!! To my AMAZING husband... YOU ROCK!!!!! You are the best! I could never do anything without your unwavering love and support!! You work so hard and do SO much!!! Just an example, I knew that I had neglected the house this week and knew I would be cleaning this weekend, but instead Ryan cleaned and worked on laundry for me!!! I'm telling you, I have the BEST husband a girl could ever ask for!!! I love you and you are my Rock and my support!!!
I love the part where it says Nursing is 90% calling and 10% job!!!

Let the Fun Begin
Monday, August 15 was my first day of Nursing School. Man were my nerves running wild. I had been to orientation but the first day of class would be different and I didn't know what to really expect. I am the type of person that likes to know what things are going to be like :) but I was really excited.
I am beyond thankful to have the opportunity to take this journey! I know that God has called me to this profession for a reason and I am excited to use my knowledge and skills as a nurse for his Glory! I am blessed to have an AMAZING Husband that is working so hard for his family to allow me to be able to go to school full time! I can't say enough about him, he is incredible!!! He is my #1 supporter. He always reminds me that I will do great and to keep focused on the results! He loves me even when I am whining, complaining and doubting my ability to do this! And he always reminds me that God called me to do that and that he will be with me each step of the way!! Which he is so right! And through all of this ALL of the Glory will go to God because without him this would not be possible! I have 2 verses that I am clinging to while I am in school.
Just an idea of the books you have to have for Nursing School
My first 2 days of school have been good. LOTS of information but very interesting. I see myself becoming a professional note taker within the next 2 years :) I have made a few friends already which is nice. One is in my clinical group and the other just sits beside me in class. My clinical group is small and all girls. I am looking forward to starting clinicals and actually being in a hospital/medical setting.Closer look at my many books!

"I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me"
Philippians 4:13
"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Oh how sweet memories are
I have been taking a trip down memory lane today. I have been trying to clean out boxes (junk) that we have moved all the different times we have moved. The fun part about doing this is you find pictures you hadn't seen in years!! And it brings a smile to your face and makes you sit back and remember the times. Here are a few that I scanned so that I could put on here. These are from 2004.
Colton LOVED to use daddy as his horse and
daddy loved to do it!
Ryan looks like a teenager in this picture (however he wasn't hehe)
Showing off his grilling skills!
What a sweet face to look at!! So hard to believe he is 9 now!
This is around July 2004
This makes me laugh. He is smiling but it looks like he is thinking
could you please get that camera out of my face :)
I am still searching for a box of pictures that has a ton of pictures of the boys. My computer crashed shortly after Pierce was born so I lost A LOT of pictures of him when he was a little baby. Still breaks my heart to think about it!! This will be the first of many memory posts I am sure. :) Oh how sweet!!Monday, August 8, 2011
First Day of School
Hard to believe it is that time of the year again!! I really enjoyed the summer with my boys! Its the first time that I have been off with them! We had lots of fun times, silly times and, of course, some not so good times too. But the not so good times come with the territory but the good times out way those!!!! I'm gonna miss these sweet boys during the day but it won't be long before I am starting school myself and things will be in FULL swing :)

My 1st Grader
Momma and Daddy love ya'll more than words can say!! It is so much fun watching ya'll grow up (but we would appreciate it if you would slow it down some!) We pray that you have great first days and a great year!! We believe in each of you and know that you will always do your best!! We love you!!!Look what is missing
Pierce lost his first tooth! He has been wanting to lose a tooth for a long time.. fun thing is when it finally started getting loose he didn't want anyone to touch it or anything! Silly Boy! He wiggled and wiggled till it was ready to come out. And, of course, he wanted Daddy to pull it! Which is ok with momma cause I have this thing with pulling teeth :)
He was super excited and the tooth fairy came to see him! He has another one loose too! So it won't be long and he'll be missing 2 bottom teeth!! My baby is growing up too fast!!!
