Being a Nurse

I know that most of you are thinking, she isn't a nurse yet. But in school we look at things in a different way.  We are Nurses in 1st semester!!  :)

As of today, I have completed my first 2 weeks of nursing school!! WOW is about all I can say!!! I knew going into this that it would be busy, lots of reading and lots of studying.  However, knowing that ahead of time and actually doing it are 2 totally different things.. Trust me!!!  BUT I am loving it!! Don't get me wrong, there have been a few times that the thoughts of "Am I crazy" "Do I really know what I am getting myself into" have crossed my mind! However, I am choosing to think of the GOAL and end product of this organized chaos instead of anything negative!  God has called me to do this and has been preparing me for this journey for a long time!  I am gladly walking this path set before me know that I CAN and WILL do this and that God is with me every step of the way!!!

I had my first Nursing test this morning!! It was very different from any other test I have ever taken! Yes it is knowledge based but it isn't simply asking what a definition of something is or how something works.  It is application questions that give you a scenario and you have to apply the knowledge you have learned in order to answer the question correctly!! I have to wait until Monday to find out what I made....bummer!  I tend to be a little impatient.. hehe!! But I will make it.  I have put a lot of time in to studying the last week and half so this weekend will be kid focused.  They are troopers and haven't complained about the flopping around and different people getting them off the bus or anything like that!! It is hard not being able to spend as much time with them, but again, I am choosing to think of the Goal and end product and focus on that!! So when I don't have to study or do homework, I will soak up as much of the boys as I can!!!  After the test today we had a time management class and during the class she played this video and I really liked it.  So I thought I would end the post by sharing it!! Thank all of you for your prayers, support and encouragement so far, and I know that I will continue to get it!! It means more than you'll ever know.  And to my precious family and friends that are helping out with the kids, I can't even put into words what that means and how much I appreciate it!!!  To my AMAZING husband... YOU ROCK!!!!!  You are the best!  I could never do anything without your unwavering love and support!! You work so hard and do SO much!!! Just an example, I knew that I had neglected the house this week and knew I would be cleaning this weekend, but instead Ryan cleaned and worked on laundry for me!!! I'm telling you, I have the BEST husband a girl could ever ask for!!!  I love you and you are my Rock and my support!!!

I love the part where it says Nursing is 90% calling and 10% job!!!
