Wrong Place at the wrong time

Yesterday morning started out as a regular morning.....

On Sat, we had bought Colton a new bed, so that the boys could share a room, but have their own beds. So we took the full size bed down. So yesterday morning we were loading the full size bed in the back of Ryan's truck so that we could take it to storage. Well, I had the bed rails and was headed out the door. Pierce was a sweet boy and opened the front door for me. He had already gone down the stairs and was standing in the grass in front of the stairs. Mind you it is early, say 9ish... so the steps are still wet. Which I reminded myself of that, so that I would be careful going down the stairs. Well..... that didn't work. I slipped, fell down all 4 stairs and then all the sudden I hear Pierce screaming! Poor little man, the bed rail had hit him in the back of the head.
For you parents that know, it is amazing how when something is wrong with your child, nothing less matters... like how bad I was hurting! So I jump up and get to Pierce only to find out that the back of his head is bleeding. Well Ryan was still inside getting the rest of the bed, but he heard Pierce screaming so he rushes out to see what is going on. He grabs Pierce and goes inside to look at his head and see how bad it is. The next thing I know, Ryan says we have to go to the ER cause it is going to need stitches. Wanna talk about making me feel AWFUL!!!! So off we go, we all load up and head to Crossgates River Oaks aka Rankin! It was the closest place. Again, Pierce is such a little trooper. They numb his head around the cut and stitch him up! It only required one stitch, so thank goodness it wasn't too bad. It could have been a lot worse! So anyway, that was the adventures of our family for a Sunday Morning!

Pierce is doing good now. Besides still having the picc line, and now a stitch in the back of his head. This is his second time for stitches! Tough Rough Boy for sure!!
